• Remedial Therapy

An integrative model of healing at MyBodyMyTemple Remedial Therapy is one choice in the range of therapeutic healing methods that includes the holistic consideration of the client. This therapy not only works, but works well in conjunction with other such modalities as Osteopathy, Chiropractic, Physiotherapy & more.   During Remedial  treatment bio-mechanical dysfunctions are identified & treated accordingly to provide healing for the body suffering with knotted tense muscles, injury to muscles & tendons, decreased range of joint & muscle motion & so on.  Varying forms of manual manipulation such as passive or active stretching, trigger point, fascia release, muscle energy techniques & deep to shallow muscle releases are applied. Combine these hands on techniques with gentle or strong, deep or shallow pressure, we locate the disorder, treat the symptoms & heal your body holistically. It is not uncommon to feel a little discomfort during such a treatment & a little soreness for a short period afterward, however the result is immediate improvement to the repairing of muscle tissues, tendons, ligaments & cells.  Stiffness & tension become an experience of the past.  Muscular & skeletal dysfunctions often addressed with Remedial therapy include : muscle tightness, pain & bruising, arthritis, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, whiplash, neck, back & joint pain, scoliosis, headaches & sports injuries.

  • Deep Tissue

This is the perfect massage treatment for those who are physically active and/or hampered by consistent pain. By massaging slowly with firm pressure I realign deeper layers of muscle fibre and connective tissues releasing chronic pain, lactic acid and muscle tension. General soreness may be experienced for a day afterward but soon replaced with easy comfortable mobile muscles. Drink as much water as possible after this massage to aid the removal of muscle acids. Perfect for an overworked body.

  • Myofascual Release

Fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds, supports and stabilizes every muscle, bone, organ, nerve, blood vessel & cell in the body.  It forms a continuous web from head to toe. Myofascial release is a highly effective  manual application of sustained pressure to
release connective  tissue  that may be trapping a muscle & other tissues into a painful immobile position.  This technique will correct movement dysfunction & alleviate pain at its root source & one again restore fluidness to movement.  Typically used to alleviate
fasciitis, fibromyalgia, repetitive stress injuries & so on.

  • Dry Needling

Dry Needling or more accurately, Trigger Point Dry Needling, (TrP-DN) is a treatment which involves inserting an extremely fine, single use sterile needle, (acupuncture needle) into a Trigger Point. This has been found in many research studies to be extremely effective in releasing the pain and tightness associated with TrP’s and normalizing the area.  Acupuncture - Isn’t This The Same? Many people think of acupuncture when dry needling is mentioned, and while the same type of needles are used for both, dry needling is not acupuncture! Acupuncture is based on the Traditional Chinese

Medicine Theory - TCM, where a needles are inserted along “energy channels” to affect “Chi” flow, (energy flow). Dry Needling, on the other hand, is based in western medicine and scientific research and utilizes our knowledge of anatomy & physiology and neurochemistry. The primary focus is to needle muscles which harbor trigger points, it is a Musculoskeletal Therapy based on Myofascial Release. There have been a number of studies which have shown the insertion of a needle into a trigger point to be considerably more effective than acupuncture in releasing musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. In particularly research into the effectiveness of dry needling for lower back pain.

  • Moxibustion

Is most definitely one of my top treatments as it is so versatile.  The treatment is of dry heat applied to the body by moxibustion – burning a herb called mugwort (either with/without dry needling, moxa punk (raw), moxa heat sticks or within Chinese cups). Moxa’s healing abilities are effective without a doubt & can heal anything from inflammation ie tendonitis, nervous tension, diarrhoea, turning breach babies, alleviate stomach ache, menstrual cramps, stimulate immune system, digestive system & so on.

  • Chinese Cupping

Cupping is an ancient Chinese method to increase blood flow to an injured area in order to increase healing, by in fact, causing local congestion.  Cupping is also a very effective method to decompress fascia & loosen fascia & muscle fibre.  A partial vacuum is created within the cups placed on the skin either by heat or suction. This draws up underlying tissues, causing congestion in the area. When the cup is left in place on the skin for a few minutes, blood stasis is formed and localized healing & releasing takes place.  The procedure lasts no more than 15 minutes and may or may not leave you with circular purple marks that will dissipate with a few minutes to a few days.

  • Far Infra-red

Fir or Far infrared light waves have been research for the past 40 years. They are light rays of a specific wavelength of invisible light possessing healing & other beneficial properties. Sunlight consists of a combination of varying wave lengths of light – “white light” as we know it. Infrared light is the lower range spectrum of the sun’s light. These rays the rays that generate the warmth we feel and are not visible to the eye. To be precise: “the complete spectrum of sunlight consists of visible and invisible rays. The visible rays are red, orange, yellow, green, indigo, blue, and violet in colour, known as rainbow colours.
The invisible rays are Ultra Violet, X-rays, Gamma, Cosmic, Microwave, Long Wave, Electrical Wave & Infrared. Electromagnetic waves between visible light and the microwave are called infrared waves. Infrared rays vary in wavelengths, and are categorized as near infrared, mid infrared and far infrared.” It is the Far/Fir Infrared light that is what we utilise in our Infrared LED treatment. They are not ultraviolet rays that can cause damage to your skin.

  • Radiofrequency for Joint Pain

Treatment by RF generates heat by oscillating radio waves/electric currents to alleviate Joint Pain, facet joint injury, interrupt nerve pain signals, easing ankyloses (abnormal adhesion or immobility of a joint &/or fibrous tissue within a joint) , decreasing  scar tissue, fatty cists/lipomas,   I recommend a series of treatments for maximum results.

  • Radiofrequency for Anti-Aging & Cellulite

Before investing in the purchase of this machine I wanted to personally try & test it capabilities myself.  Friends , family & I, over several months evaluated the claims & testimonies of its effectiveness & uses.  I can truly say it works effectively & better than other machines I have worked with.  The main efficiencies of treatments by RF are Joint Pain Relief by easing ankyloses (abnormal adhesion or immobility of a joint &/or fibrous tissue within a joint)  + Lipoma (Fatty Cist) Reduction / Cellulite Slimming - Adiposity - dramatically & quickly reduces fatty cells, cists or cellulite by transforming fatty cells to fluid that can then be moved by Lymphatic Circulation to your Lymph Nodes & processed out of the body naturally, leaving skin tight. I witnessed visible improvement in 4 session on Lipomas, Cists, Fatty Lumps & 6 sessions with Cellulite.  It is possible to remove lipomas without surgery.  Also beneficial after pregnancy to tighten up the skin (but not while breastfeeding) + Anti-Aging- Rejuvenates & Skin Tightening, by advance deep diathermy, organic nutrition transportation, RF activates metabolism increasing collagen albumen production i.e. recovers skin elasticity & lustre, lifts & tightens the skin.  You will see a change, my Aunty received comments after 3 treatments.  I recommend a series of treatments for maximum results.  I can also guarantee that the strength of the radio waves applied by this particular model of RF machine is far greater than that of the machines you will find in a beauty salon & they will charge you 4 times more!
